WELCOME TO DURHAM SCITT

Durham SCITT has been training teachers since 2005. It’s the personal attention we give to our trainees which makes this a great place to learn. We pride ourselves on the personal approach. We know there is no such thing as a “typical trainee” so we don’t provide a one-size-fits-all course. We will help you to grow and become a great teacher.   Our Subject Specialist programme (SSP) was recognised by Ofsted as outstanding practice.

All Durham SCITT trainees have access to our purpose built learning centre in Newton Aycliffe - it ensures you get off to the best start in you career. As part of the evolution of ITT, Durham SCITT has grown, developing new partnerships and embracing the challenge of training teachers for the 21st century. High quality trainees, impressive employment rates and effective partnerships with schools, mean we are in the position to offer outstanding teacher training.
