Durham SCITT has been training teachers since 2005. It’s the personal attention we give to our trainees which makes this a great place to learn. We pride ourselves on the personal approach. We know there is no such thing as a “typical trainee” so we don’t provide a one-size-fits-all course. We will help you to grow and become a great teacher. Our Subject Specialist programme (SSP) was recognised by Ofsted as outstanding and highly innovative practice.

Update: Recruitment

Despite the difficult circumstances in which we find ourselves, we are still recruiting for September.

Even though we can no longer interview in person, we are offering telephone interviews, or, if applicants prefer, Skype / Facetime etc. We want to make sure all of our staff and applicants keep themselves safe and by using these methods we can ensure we do so, whilst enabling potential trainee teachers to move forward with their applications.

Should you be invited for interview, we will be in touch with information about the process. If you have yet to make an application, please use the UCAS link.

We hope you stay safe and virus free!

Best wishes - the SCITT team
